I'm a UK Music graduate who was born in the Canary Islands. Spanish is my first language, therefore I have a natural and authentic
understanding of the language. I moved to Wales at a young age where I went on to learn two more languages; English and Welsh. Learning to fluently speak three languages at such a young age felt empowering and this is why I would like to be a language tutor.
Living in the UK, I have achieved my Spanish A-Level and GCSE. This is something I feel confident helping students with, including reading, writing and listening. In addition, I have tutored and assisted students during Spanish lessons at the school I studied at. As mentioned, I have always been passionate about languages and I discovered I could learn new ones very naturally. I studied both German and French as additional GCSE’s in
school, achieving high grades in them. This encouraged me to work towards gaining a TEFL Qualification after finishing school. I wanted to use my skill to help others learn and feel the same sense of empowerment. The TEFL experience strongly enhanced my team working and mentoring skills, on top of giving me more confidence working with children. Speaking Spanish and Welsh fluently has been incredibly useful for several jobs I have
worked in the past. The diverse collection of work I have done has greatly enhanced my communication skills with people of a wide variety of ages and learning abilities.
Additionally, I have exceptional experience in Cello playing. Achieving Grade 8 and being accepted into the Birmingham Conservatoire required me to be extremely dedicated and hard working. I have played in National Orchestras, 1to1 recording sessions for artists and have given private lessons in which I also developed a variety of skills transferable for 1to1 Spanish lessons. These include patience, time management, creative engagement,
adaptability, providing good feedback and constructive criticism. Depending on the age and level of students, I can tailor my teaching techniques and methodology to best suit the individual's progress.
As a native speaker with a strong educational and developmental background in the UK, I have the passion and desire to authentically teach others one of the world's most spoken languages.
