Sorcha Grisewood

I'm a highly qualified and experienced primary school teacher and EFL teacher with a background in modern languages (French and Spanish at degree and MA level) and Irish Gaelic. I'm an occasional writer also and have had a number of feature articles published in various publications. I grew up in Zambia, Africa and this experience has shaped me and endowed me with a love of travel, adventure, culture, language and books. I hope that anyone who chooses to study and learn with me will find the experience stimulating and rewarding!

In terms of teaching experience, I have taught at primary school level for over 15 years as well as teaching English as a foreign language to students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities from Beginner to Advanced both in Ireland and abroad. In addition, I have also taught English for Academic and Business purposes and am familiar with the famous 'VAUGHAN method' which is well-known in Spain.

My approach to learning is very student-led and informed. I would focus on the student's needs and interests and prepare lessons around that after conducting an initial assessment to establish a base level (using the Common European Framework of language learning competency). Lessons would cover both receptive skills such as Listening and Reading as well as productive skills such as Writing and Speaking. I am highly creative and organised and enjoy researching topics and creating original content also.
