I have tutoring a mixture of online and in person for 10 years, and am a qualified teacher. I have a degree in Biochemistry as well as a PGCE (teaching qualification). I can tutor GCSE biology, chemistry, physics and maths as well as A-Level Biology. I currently teach AQA combined science trilogy and AQA triple GCSEs. I can also tutor KS3 in all of the above.

The content and tutoring style vary slightly depending on the subject but I usually use exam style questions for students to practise using their knowledge as well as exam skills. By starting with a practise question it also allows for the identification of gaps in knowledge which I can then teach students what they are missing. I often use diagrams and other visual methods, such as mind maps, to do this as I have found this helps students to remember better. For this reason, if tutoring online I use an online whiteboard which allows me and the student to draw as well as write answers to questions.
The topics chosen to be tutored each session can be chosen by the student if they know what they struggle with in particular, or I can work through the whole specification for the subject from beginning to end. I leave this up to the student to ensure that is learning what they need. Although this can be difficult to decide so I have methods to assist students in finding out what they need help with the most and then focusing on these.
