Hello!

My name is Sophie! I offer English teaching lessons online. . Teaching is a passion of mine for many years now, growing up it has been my dream to teach English all over the world. I too myself am learning new languages as I believe education can open many new doors. I have been learning Korean for several years and Tagalog since 2019.

I believe learning should be fun! I strive to implement this in my lesson plans. When teaching online I like to have my camera on so my students can see my face and any props are show cards that I may use. I do quite like to show little prop cards when teaching topics such as objects as I find they are useful and make the lesson much more interactive for my students.

Some other exemplar lesson plans I like to use are incorporating my student's interests and hobbies. For example, I would ask a student to tell me what they like to do in their spare time then create a sentence using their interests or talking about their day to day life. I believe its important to learn many conversational sentences and grammar that is required for everyday living so students can use their new language comfortably and confidently.

When I have a new student that I haven't met before the first thing I will do is gather an understanding of what the base line is of their English and then from there I will construct a lesson plan that is tailored to their prior knowledge of the language.
