I have been tutoring online for 2 years now and have experience of teaching English, English as a Foreign Language, French and History from primary school all the way to A level. My lessons are entirely tailored to your goals- we will spend the first session doing icebreakers, talking about you, your experience of the subject and what you want to get out of the subject. This doesn't stop at the first session - at the start of each class, I'll check in with you to see how you're doing, because I value you as a human being first, then student. Next, I talk you through what I have planned for the class ahead, which will be your first opportunity to tell me if it sounds good or if you'd like to tweak the plan. I make my lessons as interactive as possible - I usually make a short PowerPoint to explain the topic first, during which I'll encourage you to say what you're struggling to understand or if it makes sense. Then, we'll move on to putting what we've learnt into practice. This can be using an online platform like Seneca Learning or using past paper questions if your goal is exam preparation. Whilst we're practicing, it won't be a test- we can look back at notes or you can ask me questions at any time. At the end of the session, I'll ask you how it went and what you'd like to work on next session. The mood is upbeat, relaxed, and as fun as possible!
