Hi! My name is Sophie. I offer private lessons for a multitude of subjects at a range of levels. I am currently on a gap year before starting a History and Politics degree in September 2023. I studied History, English Literature, Psychology and Sociology at A-Level and completed those with grades AABB.

The subjects I offer lessons for include English, French, History, Psychology, Sociology and Politics. I offer these at any given level- from primary school up until A-Level. I am also able to provide tutoring for the 11+ Exam, particularly with the English and Verbal Reasoning papers. Similarly, my English lessons are accessible to those who speak French as their native language, as I am able to converse in it at a professional level.

My methods include the use of active recall, visual aids such as mind-maps as well as methods the student prefers to use! Most of my lessons will be done with a PowerPoint to refer to as well as completing informal assessments to track progress. I create all of my own resources in a manner that is easy to follow and concise, as to make learning effective.

Much of my work is centred around what the student needs help with and what they want to focus on- my aim is to make it fun but also useful in their growth as an individual and student. I would like to teach that education is fun if you allow it to be!
