Hi, I’m Sophie, a first-class English Literature graduate from Newcastle University with a passion for helping students unlock their potential in English. With experience in teaching assistance and mentoring students, I understand the importance of tailoring lessons to meet individual needs.

Here’s a bit about my experience. Aside from my own academic pursuits in English, I have also have some teaching assistance experience that has equipped me with the skills needed to be an excellent tutor. I have worked as a teaching assistant at my local school’s Summer School, supporting Year 6 students as they prepare for the transition to Year 7. I also volunteered as a SAIL coach during my time at Sixth Form, where I guided a Year 7 form through their homework and class projects, and conducted one-to-one meetings where they could raise any personal or academic concerns they had. More recently, I was selected to participate in the Teach First Taster Program in Manchester, where I honed my lesson planning and teaching skills and delivered a lesson to expert educators.

In my one-to-one online lessons, we will focus on building your confidence in areas such as exam preparation, literary analysis, essay writing, and research skills. I will help you to achieve your goals using engaging discussions, studying and revision techniques that personally helped me achieve consistently high grades, and clear, step-by-step guidance.
