Sophie in a nutshell
My lessons will consist of personally tailored lesson plans for students. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to teaching reading and writing. I understand it can feel daunting to a student when they're not at the same learning speed as the rest of their class. I intend to make my students feel safe and at ease, all a mistake means to me is that you're trying and that is what counts....
My lessons will consist of personally tailored lesson plans for students. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to teaching reading and writing. I understand it can feel daunting to a student when they're not at the same learning speed as the rest of their class. I intend to make my students feel safe and at ease, all a mistake means to me is that you're trying and that is what counts.

I have previous teaching experience teaching e-learning modules to students who needed extra help understanding the modules. I also have experience working with children from ages 4-12, an up to date DBS check (DBS result is clear)

I feel that every student can excel when they're given the correct tools and safe environment to really thrive. It doesn't matter what level they are currently at as everyone is different.

I'm reliable, punctual and approachable. I am an empathetic teacher who can talk through issues with individual students making breakthroughs and smashing targets that may have seemed impossible before. I aim to end each lesson with a recap of what we've learnt rather than what I've taught.

I plan to give my students an assessment of knowledge every 4 sessions, this is not a test and won't be treated as one. The reason for the assessment is purely to assess what students have learnt and what they still may be struggling with. No revision is required for this and feedback will be given at the next session or immediately after the assessment if there is time.
