Qualifications: In 2024, I achieved a grade 9 in 10 GCSEs and a grade 7 in Level 2 Further Mathematics.

During the first lesson (free), I will get to know the student first and do a short informal assessment to find their maths level. I will get to know what their targets are in GCSE maths.

For lessons, I will prepare for a certain topic. Then I will teach this topic, give examples and allow the student to practise some questions. Lastly, homework will be set so they can solidify their knowledge and improve to feel more confident. At some point every lesson, we will go through and correct homework together. This structure can of course be modified according to the student's needs and they will also have a say in how they want their lessons to be structured! As GCSE exams get closer, the student will be completing more past papers in preparation. In terms of communication, I will be using Whatsapp (which I am using with my current GCSE student).

I started teaching as a private tutor in December 2024 and have one GCSE student right now. I am working towards any feedback they are giving me as well as safeguarding, how to teach better and how to make lessons more engaging. Before working as a private tutor and throughout my years in high school, I was always keen in helping and supporting my friends in GCSEs (specifically Maths, English and Science) by staying after school and giving revision sessions.
