I have a reasonable years of experience in teaching both Nursery, Primary and Secondary school students English Grammar. I have taught a good number of students and have achieved tremendous results. I have successfully prepared students for external exams like Common Entrance, JSSCE and Check Point.
I make use of differiented learning approach as I understand that every learner learns at different pace. I observe my learners to know what method and style works best for them as an individual. Instead of teaching all of them with the same style, I use methods suitable for each learner, in order to make them love English Grammar and understand the subject better.
English Grammar as a subject plays a key role in spoken and written English. Therefore, I ensure my learners have good understanding of the subject by creating beautiful instructional materials like visuals, mobiles and flash cards that would attract and stimulate their interests.
I give definition and explanation in ways that would aid my learners in understanding the subject as quickly as possible and also help in remembering the definition. For example, people generally define Verb as an action word. But it's not just an action word but also a being word.
I give mobiles,write-ups and posters to parents to hang in my learners' rooms to help them remember different parts of speech, grammatical names, their functions and so on.
I blend my scheme of work with my learners' school scheme of work to create harmony in learning. I ensure I make revision of what they were taught in school and treat topics before they are taught in school. This helps in keeping them ahead of others in class.
I also give weekly quizzes to my learners to help me assess their understanding and evaluate their performance. This would also help build their confidence in answering test and examination questions in school.
I also teach BASIC MATHEMATICS, QUANTITATIVE REASONING, VERBAL REASONING AND BASIC SCIENCES for PRIMARY SCHOOL LEVEL.
