hello! For my lessons, my aim is not just to teach but to also fill my students with Confidence as this is a key aspect to be able to Excel in English.

For all students, I must have the specification that your school follows and your year group. Then, I can break down everything that you require, from the specification, to find what area of study you need the most. Whether that is better understanding of the content or more advanced material.

For GCSE students in particular, I will show you how and help to make personal revision resources that will help you get the best results that you can, Even when you are not with a tutor!

For English I will teach how to do top grade analysis for any literature or language text. This, is vital to receive good/top marks in literature and language and can sometimes be a struggle to make as it requires much deeper inference and innovative personal ideas. However, analysis is something that can be taught to everyone and with practice can only become better.

I am now a grade nine and eight student ( A*) in English and science despite being originally grade 6 (B). I know that it is possible for anyone, with the right determination and work ethic, to achieve their full potential!

For younger students, having an accurate grammatical understanding of English is imperative as this is not always focused on in secondary schools and is a main contributor to why some GCSE students can not access the best grades that they can, or fall behind, due to their poorer grammar. The aim is to deepen their understanding of the way: sentences, words and how writing is structured. Whilst, simultaneously, encouraging their ability and confidence to be creative with their ideas, knowing how to structure them to deliver their message.
