I am a tutor specialising in A level English, who recently achieved an A in her English exam, with previous experience in-school in student mentoring. English Literature as a subject expanded my analytical and critical thinking skills. Understanding how to evaluate textual readings to decipher the author's intentions and understanding the fundamentals of the text is something which I enjoy and would like to help others with.
With my tutoring sessions you can expect question planning, enhancing analytical skills, time management, critical interpretations of texts, exam technique and tips for feeling prepared for your exam. My sessions are tailor made based on what you need to cover and have a particular focus on building upon skills already acquired. As a recent A level student myself, it is easy to admit that English Literature can often seem daunting. However, this also enables me to understand the importance of question planning and other revision techniques. In my lessons you can also expect a focus not just on technique, but also other areas important to the exam, such as AO3 (historical factors), with suggestions on how to work this into an essay that flows.
