Hello! My name is Sophia, and I'm a medical doctor and I am currently doing a Masters in Professional Acting. I studied Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-levels, achieving all As. I also did 11 GCSEs - 5As and 6A*, in which I achieved A* in Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and an A in biology. I have used my knowledge and experience from learning and completing my exams in Maths and Science and I have become a tutor since the start of University in 2017 and I have continued to tutor ever since then.
I usually ask students to liaise with myself before the lesson (or even on the lesson day) which topics they would like to go through. I teach or revise the topic for the first 15-30 minutes and then we go straight to practice questions both with myself and independently. Students excel in maths and science with implementing practice questions throughout lessons, as this is the best form of revision to familiarise themselves with the questions and the methodology required for the questions as they tend to pop up repeatedly.
I am a fun, caring and energetic person in classes. I will guide you all the way but I will also challenge you by asking you your thought process so that you can pick up on what topic you feel needs more improvement. I like to make my students think, because with self-process this builds more confidence and aids in good memory for when students tackle difficult topics again!
