Hi, I'm Sonia. I graduated with a First Class degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Manchester and currently work as a Chemical Engineer in the nuclear industry. I have a strong interest in Maths and the Sciences and am passionate about all things nuclear.

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience and have previously mentored students in Maths, Chemistry and Physics at KS3, KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A-level), privately as well as on a voluntary basis. My students all went on to obtain A* and A grades in their subjects. I've also mentored first-year Chemical Engineering students as part of the Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) at my university.

I'm happy to provide tutoring sessions in-person as well as online but generally find that in-person sessions are most effective.

My teaching style is interactive as I feel students generally learn best through question and answer based sessions. This allows you the opportunity to tailor your session to your own learning requirements. I also like to focus the sessions on practising examination style techniques and questions which are crucial to be able to master for exam success. I'm more than happy to alter my teaching style to suit your needs and would like to discuss this during the first session.
