All lessons will be remote for convenience. We will start each lesson with a friendly conversation to gauge your skill level. At this point, you can let me know what you would like to improve on and I will cater the lesson to those needs. If you have material from school or homework, I can definitely guide you through those. Whether you’d like to focus on grammar, reading, conversational flow, or writing, I can work with you patiently to improve your skills. Although I am a native English speaker, I also have experience learning another language (Spanish) so I can relate to your needs as a learner as well!

I’ve helped teach English to Vietnamese students and it was one of the most impactful experiences in my life. What helped most for them, I realized, were conversations outside of class. After class, many of the students would join me for a beer and they would practice English, which was more enjoyable and effective for all of us! I hope to bring a friendly atmosphere to our lessons to better your learning.

In addition, I’ve participated in multiple bootcamps for SAT and ACT test prep, where I was methodically taught grammar, writing style, and reading for several hours each day for months. During this time, I memorized thousands of new words and improved my grammar and reading beyond what is necessary for a fluent speaker.

Using both my experiences in these test prep bootcamps and in Vietnam, I believe I can create the perfect balance for you to learn English at a pace that works for you. Let me help you achieve your goals of learning English as a second language!
