Solomon Elliott

I am currently studying for an MA in Comparative Literature at UCL. Before that, I earned a BA in English Literature from Durham University. I plan to continue my studies, get a PhD, and become an academic.

As it has only been a few years since I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels, I know first-hand how tough they can be. Amidst a high number of exams and targets, I hope my approach can refresh my student's enjoyment of literature and give them a chance to excel at the same time. I am also willing to take on University students who need help with larger projects, such as their dissertations.

Each student will be given lessons that fit them. After our initial consultation call (a FREE 30-minute session on Zoom), we can establish your goals, the texts you need help studying, and how you like to learn. In most cases, we will then analyse the texts in question each week through close reading, some analysis of essay questions, and free-form discussions. I will give students materials to prepare for each session (a passage from a text, a selection of essay questions, etc.) which we will then go through together.

What students can expect from me is a passion for the subject and an excitement to discuss literature. At every lesson, we will treat each other as equals and work together to understand the texts we are dealing with.
