About me:
I have just finished my A-Levels, being predicted 4A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I have also achieved 9s in GCSE Triple Science, English Language and Literature, Maths and Further Maths, among other subjects.
Teaching style:
I like to optimise my teaching method to each student, according to their preferences. This ensures that students are able to get support in the exact way that they are receptive to the most. I will assign a reasonable amount of homework between sessions to gauge their understanding of what was discussed in the sessions.
I prefer working with the student's strengths and weaknesses, which I assess within the first one or two sessions. This allows them to get the best targeted guidance for the topics they find most difficult. Being a recent student myself, I have access to a lot of up-to-date resources and practice for students and have a varied insight on different effective revision methods to share with students to better manage their learning.
I also try to be flexible with my timings, especially around the students' exam times, for example, taking some extra sessions to provide any last-minute support for students. I encourage them to speak up about any issues or criticisms they may have, as ultimately the aim is to provide the best experience for the student!
Experience:
have had over 6 months of experience tutoring children ranging from primary school to Year 11s. I have also mentored secondary students with reading and English skills for over 10 months.
I am excited to be able to bring all the skills I picked up and apply it to tutor GCSE and A Level students.
