I am a very experienced Head of department and a key responsibility is raising attainment. To do this I need to be totally up to date with the latest exam board requirements and teaching strategies. Additionally I have had various roles within Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). The knowledge I have gained from these roles have benefitted both my students and staff.
My method of teaching is to develop thinking skills in my students. This builds resilience and problem solving skills, both of which are critical to be successful in Physics.
I use an interactive whiteboard for online lessons. I can post material on to this whiteboard which I use for my lessons. Students can write on this board in real time which allows me to comment instantly. It is a very professional set up which I have used very successfully for 3 years now. Students have 24/7 access to this whiteboard and so it can be used as a very effective revision tool at any time. The feedback from students is very positive.
