My lessons are very informal as learning happens in a relaxed environment. I focus mainly on answering exam style questions and example questions on each of the topics we cover in order for the students to be able to answer exam questions confidently and correctly.

I like to first ask for the specific topics that the students are interested in to be able to prepare before the lesson. Then I would collect example questions in these topics for us to go through during the lesson in order to cement the theoretical knowledge to be able to answer the practical questions.

From previous experience I have learnt that students should first attempt to answer the questions without help from the tutor so that they apply the knowledge they have to the best of their ability. This allows myself and the student to see what they are good at and where they have issues to focus on.

After the student has answered the question we will then go over it together with me showing the student any errors that have been made or layout of the answer. After this we will repeat the same question again together with the student so that they answer it correctly. The students then will try another similar question where they will hopefully be able to correctly answer the question and if they are not able to we will go through it together again allowing for the student to see the correct way to answer the question and what the correct answer was.
