My lessons will be tailored to your goals for learning Japanese for functional purposes. This could be in the everyday context: how to make daily conversation with friends/family, how to order food at a restaurant, how to buy something, how to express your feelings/thoughts, or how to introduce yourself to someone, or how to follow/give directions, etc. I will make sure to ground the fundamental grammar rules with regards to phonetics and syntax, vocabulary in different settings and contexts with regards to pragmatics, as well as the writing system: hiragana, katagana, and kanji (strokes, different readings and meanings, etc.). I will consider your leaning styles and teach in ways that will benefit you the most. My key strategies are repetition and relevance which will be complemented with understanding Japanese culture and customs.
