Learning for me is lifelong. It is important that we set clear goals, monitor our progress, reinforce our knowledge through application and assess our own understanding in any educational pursuits. Tutoring for me is more than just a job or a task. Tutoring helps to strengthen my own knowledge and maintain my metacognitive awareness as trends emerge in the education field.

I also believe in bite-size learning to make the learning process more manageable and productive. We will always have some sort of Gamification Elements in your learning journey to enhance your motivation and engagement. I often implement Milestones Recognition, Leaderboards and Badges system where applicable. This will encourage my learners to practice beyond a classroom setting and apply their skills in the real-world.

I learned Japanese Language during high school and never stopped revising and practicing it for over 20 years. While I very rarely have anyone to practice with, I continue to expand my knowledge on it especially Kanji characters which I still find very interesting to familiarize with in my readings. Although accessible, it is not enough to learn a foreign language through an app where the interactive activities are all one-sided. It is always more fruitful when learning with a tutor or a buddy where you can pick up cues from and have the freedom to personalize your learning at your own pace.

Apart from Japanese Language, I can teach GCSE Maths and English which I have had the volunteer experience before I became a Teaching Assistant for a SEND secondary school. I have the capacity to assist learners in small groups or 1:1. The exam boards I am familiar with are AQA and Pearson Edexcel.

Additional skills that I can teach are 3D Modelling (Blender) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Premier).
