I customize lesson plans based on your skill level, featuring exercises that engage with Spanish and Latin American history, films, music and literature. I offer a free consultation before we begin our lessons to discuss your personal language-learning goals, and we will utilize the first session to create a lesson plan and timeline adjusted to your needs.

I pre-make vocabulary and grammar flashcards before each lesson for us to go over in class, and give you access to study on your own. Each of my lessons are based around specific themes, customized around your learning objectives. Previous themes have included:

1. ¡Vamos de Viaje! (Let's Go On a Trip!)- Study of future tense and travel vocabulary by creating a travel itinerary to a country of the students' choosing.
2. Un Momento Histórico Importante (An Important Historical Moment) - Study of preterite/imperfect tenses and thematically relevant vocabulary via a study of historical text from a provided list of options, or of the students' choosing.
3. ¿Cómo se Pronuncia? (How is it Pronounced?) - Phonetic study and coaching via a select Spanish/Latin American film within a genre of the students' choosing, picked by me according to skill level.
4. ¡Habla Como un Nativo! (Speak like a Native Speaker!) - Learning colloquial slang from a film in a particular country's dialect. I am very familiar with a wide variety of Spanish dialects, with expertise in Spain Spanish and Chilean/Argentinian Spanish.
5. Literatura Esencial (Essential Literature) - Reading select passages of the most iconic works of Spanish and Latin American literature for reading comprehension and vocabulary-building. Personal expertise includes Latin American magical realism (ex. La Casa de los Espíritus by Isabel Allende, Cien Años de Soledad by Gabriel García Marquéz, etc.). For lower skill levels, I also have access to an on-tap reserve of YA novels in Spanish.
