I have been doing English Outreach in local primary schools across Berkshire, Surrey and Kent when I was in Sixth Form, as well as Drama outreach for their school productions. I made it a priority to understand the distinct needs of the children and maintained effective communication with their parents to cultivate a supportive and stimulating environment. At the same time, I have worked in Trio Drama Club in Shenzhen. As a Co-director, I played a pivotal role in bridging the communication gap between the UK director and children from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that cultural and linguistic differences did not impede understanding. I was responsible for delivering dramatic and engaging information to the children, making complex concepts accessible and entertaining.
Through learning a language, you dive into the world of their culture, thus understanding the background is also essential for me to teach someone as knowing the cultural difference is the hitting point of knowing the key of a language. Additionally, having experienced the hardship learning a language, I figured out that having conversations and include the objects that we are talking about visible, is a great way for me to learn thus I’d love to start from there! So I’d love to discuss whatever topics you are massively into and I’m so sure that you will have brilliant ideas! As the same time, it seems not to be the best for some of others, therefore I will focus on figuring out and adjusting the way of my teaching based on the situation and preferences of my students.
