I like to use different resources like books and videos. My most common used technique is to show and tell. I will do a few examples and walk you through them. I then ask you to do a few to show me your understanding. To keep the lesson engaging we will talk regarding things that might not necessarily be to do with the topic on hand. From experience, I can say students who enjoy being there do better than students who are forced to go.
