l have been teaching for more than 10 years .During my journey of teaching l have been privileged to have met a lot of students with a lot of challenges. For instance, l had an extremely shy student who normally developed anxiety attack whenever she was supposed to present. l discovered that l could assist her by one of my breathing techniques. She had to slowly breath in and out in between paragraphs. Since that day ,her reading gradually improved ,now l can confidently say that she is fluent in her reading. l find it satisfying to conduct one on one lessons online, it gives me time to realize the gaps that each student faces, for example, it might be a struggle with past ,present and future tense. My students should be able to read and understand comprehension passages. Construct sentences without any grammatical errors as well as speak fluently when using English as a medium of communication. Listening is also a critical skill that l love my students to comprehend. One of my favorite teaching methods is small group instruction. It is when l normally work with 4 to 6 students at a time. This allows me to work more closely with each student and check for student's understanding. Project -based learning is also amongst the other methods that l use .It allows my students to be much more involved. They research ,think critically, valuate, analyze, make decisions, collaborate and acquire knowledge. There are many more amongst these, for instance ,inquiry -based learning, cooperative learning, personalized education, flipped classroom, student -centered and teacher- centered instructions.
