I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 12 years of experience working with children in schools. I tutor children from Year 1 – Year 6 in English and from Reception to Year 8 in Maths, I also tutor children working towards 11+. I have experience working with children to prepare for the Year 1 Phonics Screening, the Year 4 Multiplication check and the KS1 and the KS2 SATs. I have also recently been an exam marker for the Year 6 SATs assessments.
I love tutoring because I really enjoy seeing the progress that can be made with a personalised lesson plan and I want to empower children to be the best they can be whilst having fun and most importantly gaining confidence in themselves.
In my sessions I like to use a mixture of games and interactive activities to ensure that children are learning as well as having fun. With my knowledge of the National Curriculum I can closely link our sessions to school lessons to provide as much support so that children can tackle their learning in school confidently and make progress. I believe that praise and encouragement is extremely important as well as giving feedback in a positive and constructive way to help children to learn from their mistakes and continue to flourish.
