I am a UK qualified teacher with a 150 hour TEFL certificate.
I use a variety of teaching methods and strategies in my lessons. I ensure lessons are engaging, fun and interactive. One way in which I do this is through the use of games, short tasks and activities that break the lesson up. Lessons must be fun as well as productive, I want students to look forward to our lessons and promote the love of learning for my students. I have a positive, proactive approach to teaching and strive to inspire children to achieve their goals. I understand the importance of working in partnership with parents and the importance that community plays to school life.
I am familiar with the UK National Curriculum and understand current educational practices in the UK. I have experience teaching in UK schools, international schools overseas as well as working with students learning English as an additional language. These experiences have helped me to adapt my learning and teaching strategies to support children with SEND, lower attaining children as well as children working at greater depth. I incorporate assessment for learning, questioning, low stakes assessment and make sure to scaffold and stretch pupils throughout all my classes which promotes greater learning outcomes for students.
Having experience working and living abroad has required me to build resilience and embrace new experiences. I have worked cooperatively with people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, language skills, and abilities. It is through these experiences that I have developed as a person and learned the importance of teamwork and community.
