My way of teaching art is very visual. I'd be doing the same thing at the same time as the learner while also talking through steps, this way I can also answer any questions. This means there would be video lessons. There would also be small tasks to improve skill level in-between interactive lessons such as "Between now and the next session, draw 3 1 minute sketches of..." as I found this worked...

The direction of the lessons is entirely driven by the learner so they also practice self organisation and time management. The setting would be very casual and friendly so pieces of work are done to a better standard as the student wouldn't feel pressured or judged. Art is a form of self expression!
