My main aim as a tutor will be to ensure that my student enjoys music! I hope to make the lesson a fun activity that takes the student away from the routine of everyday, and for an hour will give him something refreshing and new to do.
As a tutor, musically my focus will be to make the student comfortable around the piano, introduce them to the techniques of playing the piano, avail to them the varied music opportunities out there, and initiate the process of shaping a musician. I will follow a graded course by ABRSM, which if followed will shape their musical playing, and yet not make the entire activity seem like a burden.
My lesson will be shaped in a very orderly manner. In that hour, I will work with the student on the technical aspect of music, such as scales, arpeggios, finger strengthening exercises. This will be followed by theory, which I consider to be very important and a base for all instrument playing. The last 25-30 minutes we shall play songs, pieces, etc. This way, the student will be well developed and equipped to tackle the music.
Before coming to the United Kingdom, I lived in India. Back home, I also taught friends, siblings, and children from my society complex. This method I have developed through the teaching experience I have just developed. I have also been an important part of my school bands, orchestras and have been involved in many music initiatives and opportunities.
I hope we can meet very soon and I wish to spread my knowledge and help grow the music community!
