My lessons will be interactive and focus on a hybrid style of teaching, as a student myself I find that I grasp content a lot easier when it is taught with context to everyday life or things I enjoy. My teaching style is interactive; asking students questions for active recall, explaining concepts in a way that they can understand and making sure to pair my teaching with exam style questions to achieve the best grades. The most important part of my teaching style is that it is based on the student, I like to establish what type of learner they are and what they like and don't like in teaching from early on to avoid barriers that my limit how they access my sessions.
I have experience in mentoring younger year groups and peers from my time in education and this year I worked as a learning support for young people with SEND in college where I gained a lot of experience working with a range of different students and breaking down concepts.
As a medical student, my main area is biology, both GCSE and A Level. However, I am also well experienced in tutoring GCSE Maths after spending a year supporting students who had to retake their exams in college. I am also strong in A Level Psychology and GCSE chemistry. I have always been hardworking student and go above and beyond which I will also do for any student I tutor. I achieved A*AA for A Levels, an 8 in GCSE Maths and 9 in GCSE Biology and Chemistry. Overall I am looking to create a welcoming and encouraging space for students to not only build their knowledge but build their confidence in their subjects.
