In my opinion, teaching is a symbiotic relationship between the learned and the learner. I would like to teach as I would want to be taught - with passion, and with enthusiasm for the subject combined with respect and understanding for the student. As a chemistry teacher, my duty is to not only inspire my students but also develop curiosity in students about the world at the atomic level. Teaching and mentoring students are essential components of an academic career. I fully understand from my own experience that a good teacher works as a catalyst to start a career in any field. I have a teaching experience in the form of compulsory teaching assistance required at IIT Bombay during Ph.D., I took tutorial classes for basic courses of chemistry for undergraduate and graduate students. My teaching will be structured with two different but overlapping goals. My first goal will be to inform my students on the best-known concepts of the subject, techniques, and tools and develop their problem-solving strategies that are key for their future studies and careers. My second goal will be to help them to develop appreciation, interest, and necessary skills to conduct research in chemistry. Rather than just teaching the class notes, I will present my course material in an interesting and interactive environment, which will make the student want to learn more information. I will use computer-based technology such as multimedia, slides, and the Internet to complement traditional lectures. For UG as well as PG levels, I would love to teach courses prerequisite for basic as well as applied chemistry. I would like to teach a course on Chemistry of Coordination Compounds, Organometallic Chemistry, Spectroscopic Technique in Organic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry Stereochemistry, and Reactive Intermediates.
