I like to start my lessons with some recall of my previous session. This is because active recall has proven to improve memory and understanding of topics, its also a nice way to warm into the lesson ans getting into the right mindset. Then I like to focus on any concerns my student has highlighting any topics they particularly struggle with and taking it at their own pace to make sure they get the time they need. The purpose of my tutoring sessions is to give the students the one on one experience they need but might not have access to in a classroom environment. This can include homework, going through assignments or exams, set work or exercises I make up myself. Once I get to know my students learning style I like to create my own resource I think will work for them and help them to advance their education. To conclude my sessions I like to reflect on everything that we went through and keep a personal record of what we might need to cover in future sessions. My method has come from previous tutoring experience as both the tutor and the student, finding techniques that has worked well with many of my students. As a medical student I have researched teaching and memory and apply this to how I teach to ensure the best for my student. Although this is my method I aim to make each session personal to the student and find out what works best for them!
