My aim is to encourage students to enjoy playing whilst maintaining good progress. We would discuss what the students want to achieve at the beginning of the class and work towards their goals bit by bit. I would also check with the students whether they like my teaching method and whether it is too quick or too slow. I am open to any piano queries along with other musical questions. I would try my best to accommodate students' needs and am able to provide additional materials.
I am a well-trained classical pianist and have experience with jazz piano too. I am happy to offer any genre of music support including pop music. The duration of each lesson is usually an hour long but this can be discussed with each individual. I'm based in Cardiff and am happy to teach both in-person and online for all ages.
I have given private piano lessons to two teenage students. I guided them through their GCSE music exams and the ABRSM grade 1 and 4 exams.
Using my piano skills, I gave practical and theoretical advice which helped them improve their understanding of the pieces. I also organised their learning materials beforehand which let me teach more efficiently in class.
As a classroom assistant at the music department of Radyr Comprehensive School, I supervised year 7-10 music classes, I managed to work calmly and positively under pressure, listening to the students’ problems and being proactive. With the older year groups, I focused on assisting them with their individual performances. Offering them useful instructions using my knowledge, as well as giving one-on-one piano guidance.
