I'm a first year student at Warwick Medical School, I started tutoring GCSE level students during my BSc in London. I also tutored mathematics to a group of primary school students within another tuition centre. I have had the opportunity to broaden my experience of tutoring by being the designated tutor for students with some mental health issues. These students needed a tailored communication approach from myself to get their desired outcome. Mathematics is a subject which some students can dislike, however with the right approach their interest can be evoked which will in turn lead to great results!
The right approach consists of identifying where you as a student are in your grasp of the subject. This is to understand what type of issues you are facing with Mathematics. It could be that you struggle with a few tricky topics or that we need to work together on a foundational understanding of Mathematics. The next step is to find out how you learn best, perhaps you like to explain concepts to others or maybe you like visualising what you have learnt. This is vital to come up with an approach that suits you and will get the best out of you. Despite your learning approach, the last step will be to do questions because even though they might seem daunting, it is something you have to master in order to do well in your exam. If you have any questions and would like to know more about how I can help you with Mathematics, please get in touch!
