Lessons are usually 90 to 180 minutes based on the topic of study: we start off with a recap with a short set of recall questions. This is followed by explaining concepts of the current topic of interest, a few examples that are essential to cover. Session ends with a recap of the lesson, and homework being set, if needed.
I prefer online tutoring (through Zoom) but in-person will also be considered based on the location of the student.
The primary channel of communication will be through email, and other. WhatsApp or Discord can be used as a secondary tool. Emails are regularly sent before each sessions to highlight the date and time of the session, as well as the link (or location) to the session. Within 30 minutes of the session ending, another email is sent out to detail the details of the session, such as: topics covered, next topics, homework, session's length and date and time of the next session. Students can cancel meetings that have already been agreed upon, as long as they inform me within 6 hours of the start of the session, otherwise there may be a charge.
Students can reach out to me at anytime to query about any exam questions they are struggling with. I always try my best to reply within 24 hours.
Based on the subject of study, teaching material will differ. For Chemistry, we'll go through a cheat sheet made by me, which has been previously used by myself to get the grades I've achieved (A*). And examples of questions that are essential to be aware of, and how to answer them. The content coverage to exam practice split is 70:30. For Maths, we simply go through a few key concepts, and then spend the rest of the session going through a variety of relevant questions. The split for this is 20:80.
