Hi! I’m Serena and I’m an Illustrator based between Bournemouth and London.
I aim to help my students as individuals, providing teaching techniques and critiques on a skill and experience basis. Whether you’re just beginning your artistic journey or have been on one for years, I am able to provide invaluable insight on technical improvement as well as educational or professional improvement. I stress the importance of regular drawing and sketchbook practice, and believe in having a solid knowledge of foundational life drawing techniques, perspective and colour theory while you begin to explore your own visual language. This can be done through life drawing, experimentation and artist studies, as well as personal critique sessions.
I have obtained my BA(hons) Illustration (2:1 upper division) and my MA in Game Art (Distinction) through Falmouth University. I was recently longlisted for the World Illustration Awards, hosted by the Association of Illustrators. I have knowledge in regards to professional practice in the entertainment industry and as a commissioned artist. My personal practice is focussed around digital illustration, and I have an experienced background in Fine Art and Photography. I am also well versed in the use of Adobe software, Procreate and Blender.
Achieving A* grade (100%) for Fine Art at GCSE and A* for both Fine Art and Photography at A-Level, I also have a core understanding of how to develop and document a body of work that will ensure that you achieve top grades in line with the syllabus.
I am happy to work flexibly to suit the needs of the students I work with. I look forward to working with you!
