I have been giving Tableau sessions for 3 years at different levels. Tableau is a Business Intelligence (BI) tool to handle data (generate insights and visualize) and lots of companies are using it. Students have free access to the software so if you are a student I will send you the instructions on how to download and install Tableau before joining the session. There are 3 sessions designed to cover the basics of Tableau:
1) Beginner Session (90 minutes) - To be able to generate insights with the provided dataset in minutes - Importing/cleaning data - Setting up a worksheet - Basic visual & chart types - Sorting & filtering - Drill-downs & hierarchies - Grouping
2) Intermediate session (90 minutes) - To be able to generate presentable dashboards to update on a frequent basis - Calculated fields & formulas - Double-axis charts - Dashboards - Formatting - Action filters
3) Advanced Session (90 minutes) - To be able to generate stories and well-formatted dashboards - Advanced visuals & chart types - Dynamic panes - Stories - Parameters & sets - Conditional texts - Publishing on servers
All the sessions are online so you can join from any location. I will send you the zoom links and installation manual before the session and you will be ready. The sessions are designed to have a week between them so you can practice the things you learned until the next session.
My experience and comments from previous students suggest that you are going to create basic visuals and generate insights from the data at the end of the sessions. I look forward to seeing you in the sessions.
