I started learning the piano aged 4. At age 14 I got my ABRSM Grade 8 with Distinction and the following year I was awarded an Exhibition Award for achieving the second highest mark worldwide in Trinity College's Performer's Certificate. It was then clear to me that I wanted to make of this my profession!
Eight years of further advanced studies in the UK (BMus (Hons), Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Advanced Diploma, MMus in performance studies) and hundreds of concerts in several prestigious venues (as a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, as well as incursions in other genres like pop, jazz and rock) have prepared me to become a teacher you can trust to give you the right tools to become the strong player that you want to be. Whether you want to do grades or simply learn some pop songs, understand music theory or ask specific questions, I'll be happy to assist.
With tonnes of experience under my belt, I am very aware of the importance of adapting my teaching to suit pupils needs, abilities, goals and preferences. Because I continue to perform I'm in constant development which means my teaching never stagnates or becomes repetitive.
Our first lesson will tell me all I need to know in order to offer you the best program to help you or your child achieve your goals.
You can expect a friendly manner but also a very encouraging and gently demanding teacher.
Get in touch today so we can discuss your requirements. I look forward to working with you!
