Sean Higgins

My name is Sean from South Africa but have been living in Istanbul, Turkiye since March 2020.
My hobbies are travelling and exploring different cultures around the world. I also enjoy reading and trail hiking.
I developed a love for reading as a child along with hiking and running. To this day, I love being outdoors!
I also love teaching face-to-face .However, Covid-19 has changed the way we work, even so, online teaching can be fun too, and therefore conversational English lessons is my preferred choice of lesson types.
I prefer the student to choose a topic of their choice and we talk about it. Then ,towards the end of the lesson, I give the student some commendation and also discuss areas for the student to work on like vocabulary, grammar or pronunciation.
I believe in a holistic approach to lessons. The atmosphere in the classroom should be relaxed and friendly. Tutor and student need to bond.
The lessons will always move along at the student's pace. There's never any pressure or homework assignments.
Just an invitation for the student to form a love for English by reading books of their choice , learning new works, practicing often and so on.
If specialized intensive training is required, such as test prep for IELTS/TOEFL this can be handled accordingly.
