I have previously taught undergraduate LL.B students at both the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh. I gained the LL.B with Honours from the University of Glasgow and I then qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 and since then I have worked as a lawyer in private practice for a top 100 UK law firm, the Civil Service, local government and a major UK political party. I also have experience as a policy adviser for the former Leader of the Opposition in Westminster on constitutional reform and preparing for government.
I believe it is best to adopt a relaxed and informal method of teaching which allows students to ask questions throughout tutorials, take notes and give their views and opinions.
The tutorials I offer will be structured around set reading from the previous tutorial. I will offer an overview of the main purpose of the tutorial, what is to be achieved, and what the outcomes for the lesson should be. Questions will be set for the students based on the reading.
Students will also have the opportunity to ask me questions, offer their opinion and a discussion can then follow. I will seek to ensure that students understand all the salient material.
I can also offer assistance with examination preparation and essay writing. As a tutor of undergraduate students, I gained experience of marking exams and essays and therefore I know how to achieve the best grade possible in each method of assessment. I can also provide recommendations for suggested reading and textbooks, study tips, and more!
