Bonjour à tous ; j'espère que vous allez bien ! I'm Sean and I have two A stars in A-Levels French and Spanish, and I am studying Politics and International Relations with Spanish.
As someone who has had experience with tutoring students in the lower years as a language prefect, I believe that, since every student is different, my method of teaching should be adapted to suit individual needs. Every student has different strong points along with areas that need working on (e.g., good with the reading activities but struggles with the translations).
I understand how scary and daunting languages can be, and how difficult they can be to grasp. However, I'm certain that, with a positive can-do attitude, nothing is impossible. I am extremely passionate about languages, and I am currently teaching myself Italian and Portuguese, and so I hope that through that passion as well as my knowledge about the Francophone and Hispanic worlds, I can make lessons as fun and interesting as possible.
Language lessons are often associated with robotically reciting verb conjugations or an endless amount of vocab tests. While those elements are certainly important, they should not distract from the joy that it should be to learn a new language, as language isn't just about vocabulary or grammar: it's the door that opens up so many opportunities later on in life. That is the philosophy that I apply when I teach languages.
