My teaching philosophy is conversational and interactive. I take a multi-pronged approach that encourages students to bring their thoughts and interests to the classrooom to help see the material as parts of broader tapestries and continuums outside the classroom. This is to help foster real intellectual connections and insights into the landscapes of their lives, inside and outside the classroom.

I have had the privilege of working in diverse educational settings. My experience as a private tutor in anthropology, music, and reading comprehension with students presenting a range of spectrum disorders, have provided me the skills to deliver individualized support, adapt to various learning styles and curricula, and foster an inclusive environment. I understand the importance of tailoring my approach to meet each student's unique requirements while maintaining a relaxed and encouraging learning atmosphere. I believe that mentorship with the right guidance, support, and understanding can positively transform students’ lives and academic journeys, and help to provide them with the they tools need to thrive academically and personally.

My career as a musician has led me to manage a range of interesting personalities in my ensembles, has taken me around the world, and finally led me to academia, earning BA in ethnomusicology and a MA in Musicology. The combination of these experiences have reinforced my commitment to creating inclusive and diverse learning environments. My musical and academic journeys have equipped me with a deep understanding of sociocultural contexts, different learning styles, and the significance of embracing diversity in all levels of education.
