While I will provide students with detailed lessons on grammar and vocabulary which are fundamental in the learning of a language, the majority of lessons will be focused on speaking as from personal experience I think this is the best way to learn a language. I am available on request and I will work hard to fit into your schedule. Beginners’ classes will be more focused on vocabulary and basic phrases for those who are perhaps going on holiday so that they can impress the locals with their newly found linguistic skills, such as ordering food and drinks and basic things such as small talk. In terms of intermediate and advanced learners, I will be focusing more on the conversational aspects of the language, while attempting to teach students more of the nuanced areas of Spanish, such as the subjunctive, imperative and imperfect subjunctive. All of these specific functions of grammar help to separate a beginner and an advanced learner of the language. Lastly, for proficient speakers of Spanish who are in their final year of undergraduate studies, I can offer straightforward conversational classes with the aim of helping you to prepare for university level speaking exams. In terms of my credentials, I am a first class graduate in Spanish from the University of Glasgow who has completed an Erasmus year in the beautiful city of Seville. I am a passionate tutor who thoroughly enjoys speaking Spanish, and with this knowledge, I would love to help others to improve and consolidate their linguistic abilities.
