I personally have many different learning methods and like to switch between them all, and this makes me aware of all the different learning types and revision techniques effective for them. I have completed modules regarding effective revision techniques. I like to create a 'chill' working environment and enjoy working with all ages and school levels. Adaptability is so important to me as a tutor with previous experience; I know that student-based learning is the most helpful skill I possess. I prefer teaching in libraries to minimise distractions and interference with lessons. I use many textbooks and question banks to expand on in my classes. I enjoy using real-life examples or funny acronyms that are easy to remember, as well as diagrams to display how things work. I give students key points to revisit and make notes of and provide questions at the end of each topic to test the knowledge while it is still fresh, as well as giving light homework tasks which aren't mandatory but strongly encouraged, to boost my student's recall. I am very flexible in terms of lesson times and locations across the city, I am happy to take on early mornings or late evenings with my students; this is for their learning, not mine; I want it to be as accessible for them as possible. A safe learning environment with a good rapport is essential for a good session for both the student and the tutor. I enjoy getting to know my students personally and how the tutoring lessons compare to what and how they learn in school lessons, and how I can improve to the best of my ability for them to have the best outcome for their classes. I always want my students to walk away from a lesson happy with what we have covered and smiling!
