It has been my privilege to teach mathematics, statistics & IT for the past 22 years, and I hold a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics. My experience includes face-to-face and online teaching using a variety of tools (MS Teams, Zoom, BBB, Google Canvas). In my role as a maths teacher, I have two main goals for my students. In the first place, I would like my students to develop a conceptual understanding of how the math they learned has meaning in a broader context. Secondly, I want my students to leave the class with a greater level of confidence in their own mathematical abilities and a better understanding of how to approach math in the future. I aim to achieve these goals with my teaching style, regardless of the type of student. I hope that my teaching philosophy will continue to evolve with time, but there are some characteristics I can identify as a teacher: I use a variety of teaching approaches to maximize student learning, I create an inviting classroom environment, and I challenge students' misconceptions about mathematics.
