I have almost two decades of teaching experience and I specialise in teaching English, Math, Business studies and Economics. I have considerable experience at teaching children studying in different boards or for different exams like ICSE, IGCSE, AQA, EDEXCEL, A and AS levels, the GCSEs as well as IB curriculum. I am also well versed with Australian, Scottish and UK curriculum.
I also train students to sit for examinations such as the XAT, the SAT, the CAT, IELTS, CELPIP and PTE, and the TOEFL

My teaching philosophy is prioritising the student’s conceptual understanding and actualisation instead of simply stating facts as many do- I believe it is more important to focus on understanding the concept

In the typical first session with a student, I will analyse the student’s need- by engaging with them and understanding their weak spots as well as strengths. I will then select the best approach i can take with the child for them to feel most comfortable as well as understand the lesson easily

Helping a student to learn independently is my ultimate goal. By making sure they understand the elementary idea behind the concept and sparking curiosity and encouraging them to question, i help them develop the innate sense of wanting to learn more and more - which ultimately leads to independent study

By encouraging them in exploring every tangent possible to a topic, they get a wider perspective on it which makes a child feel more motivated to continue ahead. Also, when times feel difficult for a child, helping them stay motivated is more an emotional job, in which a simple ‘i believe in you’ or personal advice/praise goes a long way - this is my inference from about two decades of teaching
Going step-by-step in learning a difficult concept is key here. Every step has to be thoroughly explained. If the child is still facing difficulties, it is better to change the approach to an indirect one- linking the concept to one previously taught, this builds familiarity and the topic feels less daunting.

It is am important thing to analyse the pace of your student- that is the first step after which you as a teacher have done a quarter of your part. Never seem disinterested in teaching a student- for whatever reason it may be- as it negatively impacts the learner.
