Sarah Waspe

I am a very experience teacher of ESOL having qualified in 1997. I have taught English to foreign students with excellent results, mostly at summer schools in Cambridge. Classes have involved a variety of materials including film clips to stimulate conversations, anagrams, games, lessons on the history and attractions of places we're visiting and song gap activities to further students' knowledge at all levels of ability.

I have been complimented on my warm, friendly manner and excellent rapport with students. They are aware that they can ask me any question at ease. We work hard but lessons are fun and informative.

I have most recently taught at all levels at a summer school which involved multi-lingual students in one class. Students found my lessons enjoyable and benefited from my attentive, interesting and varied lessons and thanked me at the end of the course. I also guided and encouraged them through their projects which were usually on a town we were visiting or famous personalities, advising on and correcting their English. I motivated the other students to ask questions at the end of the other presentations.

I have taught ESOL on a one-to-one basis at advanced level, focusing on tailormade lessons using phrasal verbs and conversation. My student has quickly incorporated these verbs into her daily life. We were both delighted with her progress.

I have taught German for 30 years at all levels with great success. I have recently coached at A level and my student was offered a place at Cambridge.

I have good experience of teaching French. My GCSE student has just achieved a Grade 9 which is excellent.

I also teach English Literature GCSE and helped a student get his best grade of all his subjects when he was not expected to pass. I teach creative writing as part of GCSE English Language, again guiding students to successful results.
