Sarah in a nutshell
I love to take an individual approach to teaching music! So, what works for one student may be different that what works for another.

I always want to make students comfortable with learning, and setting realistic goals is at the heart of this. No one become a virtuoso overnight! Setting small goals and sticking to them is what will allow students to advance in music.

I love to take an individual approach to teaching music! So, what works for one student may be different that what works for another.

I always want to make students comfortable with learning, and setting realistic goals is at the heart of this. No one become a virtuoso overnight! Setting small goals and sticking to them is what will allow students to advance in music.

I also like to take a holistic approach when teaching music. Are you interested in performance? Then we also have to look at music theory! Interested in music arrangement? Often we need to look at music history and musicology as well! You will come away with multiple skills learned, not only the one you have signed up for.

I have an expansive repertoire list, both as a performer and a composer, but I take into account that what I enjoy playing and performing is not what works for everyone. I like for students to have a say in what they learn and work on, because then it is more fun and engaging! Maybe you enjoy the Baroque composers, or maybe you like cutting edge Contemporary music. With me, I will allow you to explore and focus on the music you enjoy the most (although, it is always wise to be a well-rounded musician and play from multiple eras!).

If you have any questions about my teaching style, or maybe would like to know what to expect from a lesson, please reach out to me and I will get back to you shortly. Best!
