I have had the privilege of working in a school setting a little while back, so I have experience working with secondary school students.
Some of the formats that will be included in my classes are:
1. Lecture; This is simply where I, the teacher provides the student[s] with information while students take notes.
2. Discussion: My classes will allow for active participation from the students. This simply encourages you, the student to be involved in the classes. Discussions can come in form of group discussions, open conversations and much more.
3. Socratic Method: This is just asking and answering questions about whatever topic we have discussed during the course of the lesson. It involves critical thinking.
4. Team-Based Learning: This involves student working in teams to complete certain tasks. Could be during the class or even given as take home assignments.
5. Online Learning: Of course all my classes are online from the comfort of your own house.
6. Active Learning: Students are encouraged to take some time out outside of the lecture time to go through the materials used during the class.
7. Inclusivity: The classroom will be inclusive and welcoming to all students. Here, all students will feel valued and have the opportunity to participate during the lecture.
8. Feedback Loop: Students can always give feedback about the lecture; what they will like to improve, stop or see more of. Feedbacks are very welcome.
These are a few formats that can be expected from my lectures or classes.
