I am an organised, empathetic individual who has had to overcome a difficult chapter in my life. I use Mindfulness practice to manage my own mental health which I would happily share with others. Whilst I have stepped out of professional life for a number of years I would welcome the opportunity to return to an environment where I can use my skills to support others. I have a wealth of experience from teaching Biology, managing a department and pastoral skills from being a head of year. I ran numerous clubs including eco art and craft, environmental awareness as well as community outreach programs placing students with charity organisations. I have always looked to put individual student needs at the forefront of all my teaching activities.
My background in Biology means I have a keen interest in the environment and sharing the importance of preserving it for future generations. I understand the importance of caring for and nurturing animals and appreciate how these interactions have huge therapeutic benefits. Although I have been out of the formal work environment I keep up to date with recent developments in Education policy. I would welcome the chance to teach practical applications of science through gardening. I have been growing my own fruit and vegetables and understand the joys and challenges this can present. I believe my breadth of experience in a variety of school settings would be invaluable but I am keen to learn new skills and contribute in an alternative education provision.
